Cedar Point United Methodist Church

The beginnings of the Cedar Point Church date back to the 1820’s although the records for that period are scarce.  Christians from the Hogans Creek Community came across the hills and helped establish the Cedar Point Congregation.  Early records of the church date to the 1860’s when it is generally believed the log building used for worship was destroyed during the Civil War.

In the 1880’s a new building was constructed and is still used as the house of worship today.  In the 1940’s an addition which included three Sunday School rooms and a kitchen were added.  The rooms were constructed in such manner for use as a fellowship hall.  Later bath facilities were added.

The expanded facilities continue to serve the congregation and the community well.
